The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed! ScummVM is a complete rewrite of these games' executables and is not an emulator. The default resolution works fine, so you don't really need the new launcher at all, you just need to install the game with the new setup files.ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical adventure and role-playing games, provided you already have their data files. The cutscenes screw up because they try to play in 640x480 anyway. Incidentally, I did at one time use mixnmojo's new EMI Launcher to run EMI in a higher resolutionthan the default (640x480), and it didn't work well at all. I used the new EMI Launcher from to get EMI to run windowed for this screenshot, but to actually play the game, I just have my Windows Shortcut run the Monkey4.exe (or Monkey.exe, which is the original launcher, either one works) file to run the game fullscreen without asking me, and it works like a charm. It performs a full install of the game and comes with my Escape From Monkey Island Launcher – which adds extra features beyond those in the game’s original launcher.' This installer works on both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows and has been tested on Windows XP and Vista. The installer that comes with the game can be problematic with newer versions of Windows and refuses to work at all on 64 bit Windows.
